Guide to Belt Training in the Field

ELRUS conveyor maintenance, conveyor belt training, aggregate equipment

In aggregate operations, time is money. When an operation is pushing out 1200 tph, every minute of down time has a cost. In this paper we are going to cover how to identify a belt misalignment problem and provide quick and easy solutions such as in the field belt training.

According to Brent Martens, our Senior Field Service Technician, it’s one of the most common issues that he sees on site visits and one that is often dealt with incorrectly.

A conveyor belt that is tracking incorrectly can lead to serious problems like:

  • Excessive wear on pulleys and idlers
  • Premature failure of components and/or structure
  • Belt stretching and tearing

This guide is a basic field guide to identifying and correcting belt tracking problems. Who doesn't find that exciting! Yes my tongue is firmly planted in my cheek. It is insightful though and I'm sure you'll find it helpful.
